Hi there and Happy Monday!!! I have been operating on this publish for a when, but life ongoing to get in the way – but I needed to share a how-to on introducing this huge checked accent wall, considering that checkered pattern is so fashionable suitable now! It is extremely doable, and you only will need a several vital applications!
What I wanted:
A laser amount – I would say this is not necessary, but it built this challenge a lot a lot a lot easier.
A ruler – I want these wooden types
a ton of blue tape!!
brushes and rollers
First I calculated my wall sizing in entire, and divided up the squares into the width that I required. I went with 14 X 14 inch squares. You then have to tape the squares – I started out by taping horizontally, and then moved on to vertical. In buy to tape points, you will need to account for the TAPE Dimensions into the entire sq. measurement, so you will get started by building rows 1, 3, and 5 the right sizing, and then add the dimension of the tape into the width of rows 2 and 4. You will begin by painting each other row, whilst the in involving rows will have tape included element of the squares. Once you paint every other row, then you will go back in, and start off to change tape all around. Beneath is an instance of what my wall looked like immediately after I was performed painting rows 1, 3 and 5 and all set to paint rows 2 and 4.
At the time the paint is thoroughly dry, you will peel it off, and hook up corner to corner of the painted squares. You will fundamentally be re-taping the outline of the new squares that you want to paint, It seems really bewildering, but I experience like when you are in the venture, it does get started to make so much feeling. Down below is an graphic where by you can sort of see what I suggest – the accent coloration has been painted in concerning the freshly painted squares!
I made the decision to increase in this accent colour because I felt like it necessary the more dimension, and I was also motivated by @saraheartmann tutorial, and liked the lavender blended with a second coloration. I hope this describes it for you, and if you have any added questions just comment under!
