Eight Black graduates from Raleigh County had been awarded scholarships totaling $10,000 through a digital ceremony Saturday arranged by a area group of Black educators.

Jayden Lawson – a WWHS graduate with a 4. GPA. Lawson is a member of the Countrywide Honor Culture and a participant in the Health and fitness Sciences & Technologies Academy. Speaking to the graduates at the keynote speaker was Dr. Japri Miller, a WWHS alumni and a recent graduate of the Joan C. Edwards University of Medication with a Physician of Drugs degree.
Miller spoke to the graduates about the relevance of persevering even when other folks say no.
