Kim Chi Chic Beauty is taking a stand during Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.
This week, Chi announced that her makeup company will be donating a portion of its sales to the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) organization.
“[NAPAWF’s] mission is to build collective power with AAPI women and to gain full agency over their lives, their families, and their communities,” the RuPaul’s Drag Race superstar explained.
“For the month of May, we are committed to donating 10% of the sale price of our face products.”
The same announcement is currently featured on Kim Chi Chic Beauty’s official website. The company’s face products that are a part of this campaign include primers, corrector palettes, and powder sets. All of these face products from Kim Chi Chic Beauty are retailing for either $18 or $19 on the brand’s online store, so they’re all pretty accessible to the average consumer who wants to support Chi’s efforts to help the NAPAWF organization.
Recently, select CVS stores started to sell Kim Chi Chic Beauty products, which was a historic moment for a drag queen-owned makeup company. Along with Trixie Mattel’s Trixie Cosmetics, Kim Chi Chic Beauty has become one of the most successful business endeavors to come out from a Drag Race alum.
Even back in season eight of Drag Race, Chi was already very outspoken about representing her South Korean culture and one day owning a makeup brand. It turns out that Chi’s dreams are all coming true as she’s able to manage a very successful makeup company while also supporting a great cause during AAPI Heritage Month.
