The eighth annual Prime Day is almost here! Amazon will hold Prime Day July 12 and 13 (more in line with its traditional timing after two pandemic years of jumping around the calendar).
Our editors are vetting Prime Day offers as they’re announced. According to our survey, 65% of you have a Prime membership, and 88% of Prime members plan to shop Prime Day deals. So we want to steer you straight. Not everything will be a good deal. But the promos and products below are ones to shop! And some are launching early.
We’ll be updating this list as Prime Day approaches and more deals are announced. And, for more Prime Day shopping tips, check out our official guide to Amazon Prime Day.
You can also check out our interactive shopping video, where we walk you through our top early Prime Day deals. Best of all, you can click and shop them directly from the video!
The Best Prime Day Deals
Prime Day may not officially start until July 12 at 12 a.m. Pacific time, but Amazon loves a pre-party. Every year it launches early deals to drum up the hype for Prime Day. And this year is no different; some of these deals are live early.
Here are the best early Prime Day deals to shop:
Up to 25% Off Gift Cards
Anytime we see a discounted gift card, we’re grabbing it. It’s a good way to pre-pay for things you know you’ll need to buy down the line. Starting on Prime Day, Amazon will be offering up to 25% off gift cards from Grubhub, Old Navy, Airbnb, UberEats and … of course … from Amazon itself.
Lowest Price EVER on the Echo Dot ($19.99)
This little smart speaker is 60% off heading into Prime Day. And under $20! That’s the best price we’ve ever seen (and $10 lower than the Black Friday price).
This tiny ball fits perfectly on narrow shelves or a night stand and does all the things Alexa does, including play music, control lights and more.
40% off Amazon Fire 7 Tablet
Inflation is real, but you can get a Fire 7 Tablet (the version with lock screen ads) for $29.99 (down from $49.99). It’s small but mighty, and perfect for watching video, web browsing, listening to music and keep tabs on work. This $29.99 price is one we also saw on Black Friday last year.
Amazon Fire Tablet, Kids Edition for 50% Off
If you’re looking for a tablet for your toddler, this version of the Fire 7 is encased in a kid-proof protector. Use it to set educational goals (and time limits), or to keep them occupied on the plane. One year of Amazon Kids+ (which gives access to specialized kid apps and programming) is included.
The $49.99 price tag, by the way, is about $10 lower than what we saw on Black Friday. So rest assured this deal is a good one.
Amazon Halo for 44% Off
This is one of the first (and biggest) discounts we’ve seen on Amazon’s fitness tracker since it was released in 2020. And this deal gets you a solid fitness tracker (PCMag gave it 4/5 stars.) for under $50.
Keep in mind, this band is more bare-bones that other trackers on the market, when it comes to the display. But it still tracks key health metrics, like steps, heart rate and blood oxygen levels. It can also receive text notifications, and it’s compatible with Alexa (meaning you can order your Alexa-enabled device to give you a readout of your health stats).
Your Halo purchase gets you a free year of Halo membership (and, yes, you have to pay for membership after that).
Get a $10 Prime Day Shopping Credit
Shoppers can earn a $10 credit to take shopping on Prime Day, via the Prime Stampcard promo (new this year!):
- Before July 13, go here. Make sure you’re signed in to your Prime account.
- Follow the instructions to activate the promo (essentially doing a number of tasks to explore Prime’s benefits).
- You’ll need to make a Prime-eligible purchase, stream a show on Prime video, listen to a song with Prime music and borrow an eBook on Prime Reading.
- Then, a $10 credit will be YOURS to shop with on July 12 and 13.
Get a Fire TV for as Low as $89.99
The 24-inch Insignia Fire TV HD 720p is almost 50% off at $89.99. Want something a bit fancier? The Amazon Fire TV 65-inch Omni Series 4K UHD smart TV is 40% off at $499.99.
Get Up to $60 in Amazon Shopping Credits
Amazon has been experimenting with pre-Prime Day credit offers in recent years. And it’s going all out this year. Buy certain things, and earn money to take shopping on Prime Day. For example, you can earn $5 for Prime Day when you purchase a movie ticket to see “Lightyear” or buy select merch. Or, buy $75 worth of P&G products on Amazon and get $20 to spend on Prime Day. See all the offers you can unlock here.
6 Months of Amazon Music Unlimited FREE When You Buy Select Echo Devices
This deal (which launched June 24) is available to NEW Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers only. Amazon Music Unlimited gives you the ability to stream millions of songs, and it usually costs $8.99 a month. To get this deal, you’ll need to buy an eligible Amazon device (see the full list here). Your options include The Echo Show 10, the Echo (4th Gen.) and the Echo Dot (4th Gen.)
Small Business Shopping Sweepstakes
Did you know there are a ton of small makers and businesses who sell their unique wares on Amazon? From June 21 to July 11, shop eligible small businesses on Amazon.com to be entered in a sweepstakes. Prizes include a trip for two to the Super Bowl, a trip for two to Las Vegas; Amazon gift cards and more.
Amazon Prime Day early deals (and official Prime Day deals) will start pouring in until Prime Day is officially wrapped at midnight on July 13. Shop them all in real time here.
And don’t forget, Prime Day isn’t the only ticket in sales town. Target has announced it’s throwing its Deal Days sale on top of Prime Day (again) this year.
