It’s been a little while since I spoke about beauty on here so I shall delve straight in.
As far as skincare goes, I’m currently making an effort to use up products already in my collection so there’s not a great deal of ‘new and exciting’ but let’s discuss what I do have to share in earnest:
My number one – I’m sure seeing this here is
no surprise to any of you. With all the (worryingly) hot weather we’re
having, this light moisturiser is just perfect for my wants. I have incidentally just picked up the soft cream though, thoughts to follow.
La Mer primer
For a little extra skin smoothing and perfecting on days where skincare somehow doesn’t feel like quite enough.
Prior
to this I’ve never really found a body
oil that I have enjoyed enough to use continually. Not greasy, this
formulation is so lovely for my dry shins and ankles, I’ll definitely be
repurchasing. Anything left over on my hands I’ll just rub into the
ends of my hair too.
(tip: I actually prefer the pump on the travel bottle)
Now then, makeup!
I
mentioned in a previous post how I barely wear it anymore and that’s a
sentiment I’ve continued. If I’m not going out anywhere ‘special’ I’ll
just go through my (minimal) skincare routine and leave it at that. I
also lean heavily towards clean beauty these days because it’s so
prevalent now, what’s the excuse not to.
Jane Iredale powder foundation
I find powder mineral foundations underrated. It’s all that stayed on my face whilst in Croatia and I think my normal-combination skin just enjoys the feel and finish.
I
love how lightweight this particular one feels. Spread downwards onto
your skin to match the direction of any downy, vellus hairs for the
smoothest finish. Should you look at the ingredients list, there really
isn’t a lot to it aside pigments and sunscreen. I’m a believer of
treating all skins as sensitive skins so approve of this gentle yet
effective base.
I
am so thoroughly impressed with this blush formulation. Silky, matte
(not flat), a beautiful colour range (really the colour range is one of
the nicest I’ve seen among clean and non-clean brands) and foolproof to
apply. I’ve been choosing cooler tones over warm and really enjoying it.
Shade Awake, a neutral-leaning-cool pink, is enlivening without being
brash.
The coverage is no joke! I use the teeniest
tiniest pinhead amount to dab onto spots and blemishes (that I still get
in my 30’s). I’m only irked because 050 is a little too dark so I’ve
needed to buy 010 to mix together.
I
never thought I’d enjoy such a pale colour, as my lips are naturally
quite pigmented and anything ‘bare’ washes me out. I love everything;
the clean ethics, the formula, the glass tube.
A
mention for these lovely lip products. Hard to describe the texture…
my best attempt would be a ‘plush water gloss’. Specifically the shade
of four linked have a lovely muted undertone, perfect for a signature
lip.
